Notable Arcade Games of 2015

It’s nearly impossible to walk past video arcade games without dropping a few quarters into an open slot. In 1980, Pac-Man was introduced and has stood the test of time as an enjoyable time-killer. If one thing is for certain, it’s that you can’t play just one game of Pac-Man, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Time Crisis, Street Fighter…okay, you get the point. A new year brings new titles to the arcades, and here are a few that have the potential to join those previously mentioned elite games.

Subway Surfers

The hit mobile game is making its video arcade debut and there is no doubt that it will be a hit. You control the character, “Jake,” in this potentially endless game by running and dodging oncoming trains and collecting power-ups. With a 4.5/5 rating on Google Play, it should have no problem finding its way in the video arcade.

Yahtzee Arcade

While there is little announced thus far, it is described as a ticket video redemption game. Roll the dice, five of a kind preferably, and you will be screaming Yahtzee(!) as the tickets pour out. If you are interested in walking home with a PS4, Xbox One, or another big-ticket item, you may want to check this game out in an attempt to hit big! If it’s anything like the traditional dice game, it will be fun and entertaining with an opportunity for a big payout.

Mega Spin Arcade

This game is a giant wheel in which there appears to be one goal – spin to win (a lot of) tickets. Little has been announced thus far, but with payouts ranging from 30-1000 tickets, you could be walking home with a big-ticket item in just a few lucky spins. Good luck!

Various Pinball Games

“The Big Lebowski Pinball,” “Full Throttle Pinball,” “Pinball Gremlins,” and “Predator Pinball” are just a few of the fast-paced pinball titles that will be rolling out in 2015. While the themes may be different, they all offer the nonstop action that video arcade enthusiasts have come to love. These will be in arcades near you in a few short months and are must-play games for any and all arcade go-ers.

As these games continue to rollout over the next year, head to your nearest arcade to play these and dozens of others.
